He goes on to write “Several of the pieces in this volume will undoubtedly bear the impress of merit’ and those treating of the sublime and beautiful scenery of New Zealand are remarkable for their fidelity to nature”. There is an historical sketch by Robert Stout and the preface is by George Grey. The full page illustrations are by English and New Zealand artists.  Size of book: 255mm by 195mm.
